I was driving by a car dealership to replace my wife's Explorer with an Mariner, and I saw about 25 salesmen sitting out front looking for a customer.

This tells me that many dealershps are hurting right now, and also that deals are to be had.

Has anyone else noticed that the Bush administration has said literally nothing since the price of gas has started rising, except to tell us we're not in a recession?

Typical Republican excuse. Na, we aren't in a recession, as long as the wealthy aren't being hurt, who cares? not them. They blame it on the Liberals not wanting to drill for more oil off shore, well, tell the Greenies to go pound sand, I don't believe for one minute all of us "liberals" are greenies!

I'm sick and tired of people whining about high gas prices. The roads where I live are just as crowded and traffic jams are as bad as ever.

People need to stop driving so much and taking jobs an hour away from where they live. I'd like to see the Federal government start putting an additional dollar or two tax on a gallon of gas and get the roads clear of poor people.

And they should also prevent people from writing off the cost of gas as a business expense.

And why are we allowing NASCAR to continue racing hundreds of gas guzzling racing cars around in circles for 500 miles for no apparent reason ???

Instaed of reporting the results of this ridculous "sport" I'd l;ike to see some reporter give us the amount of gas being wasted at these events.

I don't know how anyone can call this a sport when you have a midget woman competing with a bunch of men and winning. Is there some other "sport" that women can compete with men in and win, that I'm not aware of ?

If you think it's expensive now, just wait 'til they start trading oil futures on the Euro, lol.

NASCARs run nitro-methane, not pump gas.

He also hasn't said why diesel is $2.00/gallon in Mexico, and almost $5.00/gallon over the border in the US.

To bad after we got rid of Sadam for the Saudi royal family , they can't hike productrion. Since the Bush family has been aligned with the Saud Royal family since George I was CIA Director we have helped them with a couple wars.
Now George II has provoked a war, topple Sadam a major democratic secular threat to Saudi Arabia and still they sqew us.
Gee George, you better hug your buddy a bit tighter.

Maybe this "crisis" will inspire people to stay home instead of running all over god's creation. Spend time with family and get to know your neighbors.....that's what it means to find true happiness.

Then you will also have the answer as to why gas is so much cheaper in the bordertown of Brownsville TX ( just a few miles from my hometown of Harlingen) That is to encourage the Mexicans to cross the bridge to shop here ( and steal and "cut" here ). We dear citizens are in bed with the enemy. Strange bedfellows ? Not so. The rest of the country has NO idea how bad it is. Mexico has Bush in it's back pocket ~ that and all the money being wired back to MX. Our grocery stores have long, long, long lines to wire money home. Welcome cheap labor ????? Not so cheap when you consider our taxes are feeding Mexico now and we are also giving them all the healthcare and education they want FREE. Somebody better start thinking who can really help us. Short of an uprising I can't think of a thing. Can you ?? Suggestions welcome.

Sometimes, through no fault of our own, we find ourselves far removed from our families who we dearly love and miss. Our vacations have always been spent trying to reach them so we also can find that true happiness you speak of. We still make the trip home to heal their hearts too. Can you really say that people who are running all over god's creation are not doing it for the same reasons ? Think before you attack. Thanks

Did you think maybe because it's subsidised by the government there through its state run oil company Pemex? Maybe you should consider moving there if you want $2.00 fuel. I hear Venezuela may be a good choice also.
