A northeastern Oklahoma school district plans to go to a four-day week this year in hopes of saving the district money.

Two men riding a motorcycle in Osage County near Prue have died in an accident authorities say might have been alcohol-related. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 45-year-old Billy J. Mayer of Prue and 37-year-old Christopher H. Hendrix of Prue died in the accident, which happened about 7:40 p.m. on Monday on a country road northwest of Prue.

After 19 years at Prue Public Schools, Deborah Tennison said she sees her new job as Hilldale High School principal as "a nice career move." Some school officials and students say Tennison brings stability to the school.

The town of Prue can relax now. A man who was on the run from authorities after allegedly firing a shot during a domestic dispute has been arrested.

Roy William Mills of Prue, captured Thursday in Osage County after a one-day manhunt.

A rural Osage County school is on lockdown as officers continue to search for a man believed to be armed with a high-powered weapon.

Schools here were placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after an armed man ran from deputies into the nearby woods following a domestic dispute.
