John R. Pelphrey 81, years old, of Allen, Ky ., was pronounced dead at the scene by Floyd County Coroner Greg Nelson after he attempted to pull across the southbound lanes of U.S.23 driving a 2008 Toyota Rav 4 and collided with Terri L. Edwards of Prestonsburg, KY.

I've known John for years. He was good friends with my grandparents when I was a child growing up and I remember he used to be the Jewel T salesman years ago if anyone remembers that brand. He was a good man.
