Thank you Ron Noland. I am also Engineer, Mathematician & went to Los Alamos Nuclear Lab from Grad school. There is little significant I do not know about nuclear weapons, about reactors, I was part of the INEL team that breifed Europe, Iataly, Swedish, et al on reactor safety. INEL designed the containment. I was also in Intell. Community (CIA, et al) which thought the anti-nuclear power industry was funded by the KGB. No it was the coal & fossil fuel industry. The absurd misrepresentations about nuclear power is beyond sutpidity, it is paid-for lying. There has never been a serious injury nuch less death in a US nuclear power plant. Three Mile Island TMI was no disaser, it was massive fear mongering by the US "news" media. No injury, no escaped radiation, The most radiation exposure any person could possiblly have eceived was/is one sixth that of a chest xray at your doctor's office. There are many world nuclear power plants; they can't explode; "terrorists" can do nothing if they took control of one; most modern countries get 80% or more of their electricity from nuclear plants-- US gets 20% from obsolete, inefficient design & hasn't build a nuclear plant in almost 25 years. Nuclear fission is the cleanest , abundant, safest, non-polluting power available. If the ITER fusion reactor, being built in France, is successful it will the "dream come true" of free, limitless, non-polluting power for the human species. The US "news" media uses sensationalism , baseless fear mongering to promote themselves; rather than fact based information. That's why they are going out of business.

It is sad how easily manipulated and ignorant people are regarding nuclear power. All one has to do is mention it and people think Chernobyl Three Mile Island, and the China Syndrome. If we as a country truly want to get away from fossil fuels as a power source nuclear is the only way to go.

Yes, yes, everyone else is stupid...
All it takes is one mishap to cause immense, irreparable damage.

You fellows wouldn't happen to be shills for nuclear power, now would you?

Where has that happened outside of a communist country?

I have no relationship professional or otherwise with anyone in the nuclear industry. I do have a brain and some level of intelligence.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Cancer

You've had enough time to yourself lately. This is a day to focus on family, with all the good and bad that that brings. Crabs would much rather be at the top of the tree than down near the roots, but that's life. You might be smart when it comes to matters of the heart, but you don't know it all quite yet.
