First Community Bank to have grand opening
First Community Bank will host its grand opening and ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Thursday at the bank in Whispering Creek Shopping Center, 6252 N. Former officer named as Orem police chief
The city announced Tuesday that Gary Giles, who has spent the past two years serving as a chief of police in Portland, Texas, will become the new Orem chief of police on Aug. 4. City spokesman Stephen Downs told the Daily Herald that Giles' appointment is a key step in the city's move to re-establish its police department.
