Eberl had serious injuries to his head and face as well as a laceration to his left hand.

Chick-Fil-A plans restaurant at Cypress Creek Town Center outlet mall in Wesley Chapel

Chick-Fil-A, the national chain known for its bovine spokesmen urging folks to "Eat Mor Chikin" is coming to Cypress Creek Town Center. Corporate Property Services has a meeting set for Monday with Pasco County officials about plans to build a proposed 4,586-square-foot Chick-Fil-A restaurant with 96 seats inside and 32 seats outside on 1.33 acres at the entrance to the proposed outlet mall on the south side of State Road 56. The restaurant proposes two driveway lanes and indoor playground.

Chili's coming to Wesley Chapel

Brinker Florida has filed site plans to build a 6,090-square-foot Chili's Bar & Grill on the south side of State Road 54 about a half mile east of Interstate 75. The application, reviewed by the staff, has already won county approval. The restaurant would be the county's sixth Chili's.

Volunteers sought to clean up the coast in Pasco

Pasco residents are encouraged to come out and help pick up trash along fragile coastal waterways and streets as part of the annual International Coastal Cleanup from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 20. The cleanup will be at multiple locations throughout the county, including Strauber Memorial Highway in Holiday, the city of Dade City, the Cotee River in downtown New Port Richey, Hudson Beach, Lacoochee, Waterfront Park in New Port Richey, Sea Pines in Hudson, Signal Cove in Hudson and Werner-Boyce State Park in Port Richey.

Port Richey hires outside company to handle vehicle auctions

The city will begin selling vehicles again amid an ongoing state inquiry into the Police Department's handling of its impound lot. But the Police Department will not control the auctions, as it had since 2009, because the City Council voted Tuesday to enter into an agreement with an outside company to sell impounded surplus vehicles through online auctions.
