Looks like Charles Manson's dream is coming true, a little late.

'Maybe', he jumped the curb. He even said that he did it on purpose. What about that is not clear to you?

Sure there would be. Only a pig like James Earl Ray would assume that there wouldn't be.

The black guys that told a white woman that there was a fee to use the park and hit her got charged with a hate crime.

Did you not read the article? The man admitted that he was attempting to hit the bicyclist and then began screaming racial slurs? How in the world is that not a hate crime?

It is possible to aim a car at someone and not necessarily kill them. The fact that he got out and was screaming the things that he did indicates it was racial in nature. I'm not big on hate crimes; I think the crime in and of itself was bad enough regardless of what color or nationality she was. I don't believe it was just an accident though...

I'm not entirely sure about this one. Sounds like he hit her on accident and then got out of the car and decided to be a racist prick. I don't think that constitutes a hate crime. I think if he wanted to hurt her, considering he was in a car and all, he would have killed her.
I just find it funny how all these incidents are considered hate crime, but if it were reveresed (black man driving, white man walking), it would not be a hate crime and the paper probably would not even print the drivers color.
Yes. I think the driver should get the junk kicked out of him. No reason to use racial slurs after you hit someone with a car. But seriously, if this was a hate crime he most likely would have aimed the car at the girl and run her over and killed her. This did not happen. Its the sentinel trying to make something out of nothing for racial headlines

Obviously this guy isn't playing with a full deck. How else could he say after hitting a woman on a bicycle that, "I turned my car to take him out." Can't he tell the difference between a man and a woman? And the bail amount appears to be off by at least one decimal place. A crime like this should require at least $600,000 to get out of jail.

How's the car? Nobody cares about the car? It takes alot of hate to not only try to run someone down, but then wreck the car too. Something just does'nt sound right.

It says in the article that he admitted to hitting the bike rider on purpose. What's not to understand? And why, after admitting to that, is he even being offered bail? Sounds like a ticking bomb who should be removed from society before he does even more damage.
You're correct; and if this nutcase DOES get out of jail on bail or however - with so much rage inside, what's to say he won't pick someone else to "take out," simply because he "failed" in his previous attempt? Maybe run his car into a crowd of school children? He admitted what he was trying to do, he shouldn't be allowed back into society.

That sounds like attempted murder. I'm sure the attorneys assigned to this one will straighten it out.

On another note, I noticed that some comments disagreeing with the hate crime issue were deleted even thought they didn't seem to have any language that would call for it... Who monitors these things?

If I say, the Orlando Sentinel is not a very good newpaper, in my humble opinion, is that grounds for removal?

For those who don't know where S. Atlantic Ave. is, it's A1A smack in the middle of Daytona's beachside. At 7:50 pm this deranged driver could have harmed very many residents/tourists who were simply going about their own business and should be Baker Acted and then face an enormous bond arrangement.

Hopefully, the Sentinel will follow this story closely and provide it's readers with a better picture of Mr. Cosby's circumstances..
