OSCEOLA COUNTY, FLORIDA | At the end of a meeting that commissioner Brandon Arrington hosted on 02/09/2012, several eyewitnesses saw Arrington shove candidate and opponent Tony Ferentinos. Witnesses also claim they heard Arrington reference "class" as the shoving occurred. Recently Florida's Governor Rick Scott fired another elected official, Malcolm Thompson, after he shoved an employee.

Darhlene Zeanwick was featured today on WFTV Channel 9's Todd Ulrich's Action 9 report. Todd told about Darhlene's experience last year with Fifth-Third Bank of Pleasant Hill Road. The topic: big banks and their violation of federal law that is supposed to prohibit them from withdrawing money from closed accounts.

Darhlene is also a candidate for county commissioner in Osceola. She is proposing a new consumer financial protection department in the county to address issues such as Fifth-Third's federal violation.

The first phase, known as a freestanding emergency department, could open in early 2013.

Darhlene Zeanwick claims to be the first candidate in Osceola County history to place a petition for candidacy online. "My campaign is socially friendly," she said.

If she wins the election this year, she'll also break another historic milemarker. She'll be the first female Hispanic member of the Board of County Commissioners.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit cleared every homicide case it was assigned to investigate in 2010 and 2011, it reports.

Arrangement have been made with Lowe's of Poinciana to use their parking lot for the purpose of gathering folks to Occupy the Chambers of the Commissioners of Osceola County. The Commissioners meeting will be held on MONDAY, JANUARY 23, and Occupyers will be there and throughout the courtyard area in front of the Administration building.
