Dozens of Osceola County homeowners have filed challenges to new federal maps that place their properties in a flood zone and could force them to buy flood insurance.

POINCIANA, Fla. - He's only 11 years old, but his parents say he's been bullied to the point that he has been diagnosed as suicidal.

OSCEOLA COUNTY, FLA | In central Florida real estate business news, according to the Mid-Florida Multiple Listing Service, or MLS, SunStar Realty ranked 66 out of 570 firms that sold real estate in the Florida county of Osceola. Ranking was taken over a period of the past 12 months.

SunStar's broker, John Rivera, is of Hispanic origin and a native of Poinciana. Like his staff, Rivera is multi-lingual. REALTORS are able to speak Portuguese and Polish.

A 36-year-old Poinciana man was killed Wednesday when he lost control of a Honda he was driving on rain-slicked Cypress Parkway and slammed into a steel power pole, the Driver Jason Moreno was declared dead on the scene and his body had to be extricated from the 2008 Honda convertible.

Osceola County Sheriff's Office deputies have arrested two suspects - Reginald Lamar Harris, 39, of Orlando, and Julius Russell Kirven II, 43, of 346 Monterey St., Poinciana - for their involvement in a burglary at Central Florida Power Equipment, 2547 Partin Settlement Road, Kissimmee.
