Man found dead after Platte City vehicle fires is identified

Platte City authorities on Monday identified the man who died after he set fire to several vehicles last week as Curtis J. Durbin, 20.Durbin, of Platte City, died from smoke inhalation accompanied by high levels of carbon monoxide, authorities said.

A man’s body was found this morning in Platte City inside one of nine vehicles that authorities said had been set on fire.According to Platte County Police Chief Carl Mitchell: At 5:25 a.m., Platte City police officers were dispatched to a car fire at 1881 Wilkerson Drive.
