Has anyone ever gone to a high school at quitting time? You will see some of the scariest drivers.... they are all out there on the roads, some very inexperienced, reckless and downright dumb. You want to get a snapshot of some teenage drivers, watch them leave school.

I am so sorry for this loss. I am a firm believer that our legal driving age is way too young. I think kids should be able to drink and smoke at 18 and drive at 21. Why on earth do we give them the keys to kill themselves and innocent people?

bullies in the hills? I don't even live in the hills. And he was hardly "discussing the issues". He was calling two dead kids "idiots" and placing unwarranted blame on their friends and families. Vehicular manslaughter may be a crime, but the two brothers who lost their lives didnt commit it. They are who I am speaking up for against these unwarranted and faceless attacks on the Sentinal forums.
Damn, you're an idiot. I've lived in this area my entire life, and there have always been your kind here. Bullies, reckless idiots, shooting off your mouth always trying to bully and degrade people. The death of these boys is a sad thing, but you are doing them no justice by threatening those who wish to post an opinion. My guess is you feel some guilt because you probably used to speed around recklessly with these boys, but you've been lucky...so far! Good luck, and may you find some peace in your mind and heart.

I agree with Josh. Harsh as it may be, it was only a matter of time before the recklessness of all three of these young men would have claimed the lives of others. I am sorry for her loss, but placing blame on "the carelessness of the system" is just plain bulls***. Let's try something new and take responsibilty for our actions...or lack thereof! Follow-up and see how many more moving violations/lives Donovan Barclay has accumulated/taken since the two lives of his "cousins and close friends" apparently weren't enough. I've got an idea for you Josh, set up a meeting with the moron who's threatening you (but don't show up) and hopefully Donovan Barclay will be driving through that area at that particular time.

Having gone around the sun 77 times and been married a long time I have made some observations that personal responsibility is a long lost art. Far too many mothers and some fathers cannot stand to be anything other than a friend to their children. They have to be liked at all times. Perish the thought the child would lie. On this my personal experience has proven true. My wife cannot be a parent even though she can see the results. Too much not good in the results.

I remember that crash all too well... I was just up a slight hill above the road and heard the car go screaming by -then the crash about a 1/4 mile up the road. I drive that road several times a week at times and at various times in the day. I've had a number of close calls with reckless drivers -not all of them young adults. Most try to pass on blind curves at excessive speeds. I feel bad for the parent loosing her kids, but I have no sympathy for the kids, themselves. I've known a number of young co workers, locally, that have had DUIs and multiple speeding tickets that think nothing of the consequences of their actions -in fact most just laugh about it.

Kids - cars do kill no matter what you think.

My kids did not get their license at 16. I didn't think they were mature enough for that type of reponsibility so they had to wait until they were 17. They really didn't seem to mind. If I didn't like their friends driving - they didn't go with them. Parents - you can be in charge. You just gotta try harder.

Testosterone+Gasoline+Youth+ET OH=DEATH

The only thing you can trust teens to do in a car is drive fast and reckless

2 days after getting my learners permit, I was passing a truck out in the country. He turned out on
a dirt road without a signal...I was passing at about 75...I swerved....still had enough speed after the collision to go on and take out a concrete bridge and a live fire hydrant...to this day I can see an image of that water spraying up in the air...then this guy with blood all over his face gets out of the car....thank god we all got out of it with cuts and bruises, brown streak in my pants, and a whole lot wiser and more conservative of a driver...I'm not bad and I was not drunk...It just felt so good to open up that 4 barrel carb and feel the wind blasting...felt so free...irresistible for me as a teen...then i wised up- no wrexcks in last 30 years - thank god

TEENS CAN"T HANDLE DRIVING_
SPEED TOO TEMPTING
NO DRIVE TIL 18 or better 21
I'm scared to let my boys get licenses

"Even God cannot change the past".- Agathon, 300 BC

Dear young bucks of the an Lorenzo Valley,
BEWARE!! The dead in this true story, and the grieving ones left standing, will be YOU and your loved ones, unless you learn from this tragic act of arrogant stupidity, and learn to slow down and drive like responsible grown-ups.
Any also, YOU or one of your loved ones may be an innocent victim minding your own business when you are either killed or confined to a wheelchair, armless, for the rest of your lives.
For you, life is 'long", but I assure you, even if you live to be 100, life is terribly, terribly short.
The Shadow knows!!!

Tyler Barclay was my best friend. He was an amazing person and i think thats what we need to focus on, is them, there amazing lifes, and there amazing spirts. What happened was horrible and yes we all need to be more aware. I no donovan loved his cousins, and feels very guilty, and will carry it forever. I cannot speak for him so i won't, but they were all close. TYler and shane were amazing, so simular but so different. No matter what they did they were the best of people, and the world will never be the same without them, I love you bestfriend, always and forever like we always said. The Barclay boys will never be forgotten,

Daily Horoscope for December 8

Pisces

You're capable of making some very constructive and important decisions today, particularly where your relations with certain people are concerned. If you're fed up with the way someone has been treating you, you might now decide that the worm is about to turn and you're going to be much firmer about what you're prepared to put up with and what you won't tolerate.
