Fires still burning near Pinon
Fire crews continue working on containing two separate grass fires burning on private lands just six miles east of Pinon, a New Mexico State Forestry spokesman said Wednesday.
Otero and Chaves county fire crews, along with firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service, were fighting three separate grass fires Tuesday east of Pinon, a New Mexico State Forestry spokesman said.
Lightning sparks fires in southern New Mexico
The 200-acre Barclay Fire is burning 6 miles east of Pinon, N.M. One ranch house is threatened by the blaze, but there are no evacuations.
