Test drives raise money for Pinckney athletics

<![CDATA[Bob Maxey Ford, the Pinckney Community High School athletic department and members of the local community helped raise $2,500 for the athletic department at a test-drive event in October, part of Ford Motor Co.'s Drive 4 UR School program. More than 125 Pinckney-area residents test-drove a Ford vehicle at the Pirates' football field. Bob Maxey Ford of Genoa Township and Ford Motor Co. donated $20 for each test drive. Since the program's inception in 2007, the Drive 4 UR School program has generated more than $20 million in donations for high schools nationwide. The money raised during the Drive 4 UR School program has helped ensure that extracurricular activities such as sports and music programs continue in local communities despite budgetary issues and funding cuts. "I am more than thrilled that so many people from the local community turned out to support (the) Pinckney High School athletic department and varsity wrestling team, and I've never been more proud to be a Ford dealer," said Mike Maxey, president of Bob Maxey Ford. "Participants had the chance to take a fun, casual drive in one of our vehicles, while lending our students and community a much-needed helping hand."
