Noah Biorkman- UPDATE
I saw this on snopes.com and its been around Facebook. Just thought Id post this all for you in case you were planning on sending him one or if you wanted an update. This is about the boy that has cancer and his only wish was to celebrate Christmas and asked everyone to send Christmas Cards so that way he could have a good Christmas for his last one. His family celebrated it with him last weekend.
This came from Noahs mother:
Wow! The outpouring of love and concern for Noah is amazing! Scott and I never in a million years thought that so many people would want to send Christmas cards to Noah. However please note: We did already celebrate Christmas last Sunday-November 8th.
PLEASE STOP SENDING CARDS AND GIFTS!!!!
Noah is very ill. He is not getting out of bed and its for Scott, our families and I to concentrate on our son. His time is very short and he needs us.
Scott and I would like to say thank you so much for the support and continued show of love. However, we are asking that everyone please stop sending cards and gifts.
Also, everyone please post the stop order on Facebook and any other websites or organizations that you belong to. We need the peace right now.
Thank you for your understanding in this request.

Family Dining in Piedmont Missouri
In Piedmont, Missouri, a small Southeastern Town, you will find many things to do and see. In the summer months, there is Fishing, Camping, Hiking trails, Horseback riding, Float trips and much more.
In the fall, there are festivals, music and of course, some of the very best hunting in the state. There are also the beautiful fall colors displayed in such a wonderful way as to attribute them to the water coloring of Gods own hand.
Clearwater Lake is a big attraction, and has been for many years. It draws hundreds of families for fishing, boating and camping.
Piedmont has the Fall Festival every year that has consistently grown each year. With the number of families that visit Piedmont, there has been a growth in Restaurants to accommodate these families also. We have seen new restaurants come to life in the last couple of years.
As a retired chef and someone that has spent more time in the restaurant than out, I have always liked to visit them. I have cooked for people most of my life, a trait; I inherited from my grandmother, and still enjoy it to day. My customers today are my family and grandkids. In addition, the occasional dinner party. I do get calls now and then to cater a function of one kind or another.
There is a joy in cooking for some one and sharing as they express through their mouthful of Yums, that you have Done it again. Having spent time in the restaurants in Piedmont and the area that surrounds us, I thought it would be nice to mention them and give them a pat on the back, if you will.

Cyber Bullying Bill at Work
In Lincoln County Missouri, a student in the ninth grade has been arrested. She is a student at Troy Buchanan High School. It is not known if she wil face criminal charges, but the arrest will include the harassment charges. She was arrested on October 8 but would not comment because of age and the privacy act. It has been learned that the girl posted a site that used insulting and degrading remarks about the other girl. The site also contained a photo; comments and a poll about the other girl. It has now been removed from the web.It is possible there will be more of these types of arrests in the future. It seems to me that this type of "bullying" has gotten out of hand. The biggest percentage of this type of harassment and bullying is contained to the "teens" but there are cases involving adults using the web in this manner also.

Fall colors are on the way. This is the time of year that many look forward to. It is a time to see the paint brush of God. From the lifelong resident, to the photo-bugs, there is nothing that compares.
This last week or two has not been the weather that brings out falls best. Warm days and cool nights are the ingredients it takes to capture our love for this time of year. SO, lets pray that the next week has the optimal weather so that we can enjoy "Southeast Missouri's Best Show of the Year"

Uranium Drilling in MIssissippi County
Mississippi County, in the bootheel of Southeast Missouri has a population of just around 13,427. It was organized in 1845 and was named after the Mississippi River. This is a county where around 23% of the residence live below the "poverty Level." This may change for some. A geologist in the area is talking of millions of dollars in jobs. Where some farmers have, for years, made a living growing corn and soybeans, there may be a new crop to be harvested. John Gustavson, the geologist, has stated that this area could be holding one of the "biggest uranium depostits in the entire U.S." He says that if uranium is found, it would be shipped to a facility in a neighboring state for processing into fuel for nuclear power.
