Tim Hansley is one of the top city managers in Central Ohio. If he's not appreciated in Pickerington, there are many communities who will want to benefit from his many skills.

Why do people pay for city managers, anyway? And why do people allow a few prigs to tell them where they can store their boats, etc. on their own property that they pay a fortune in taxes to remain on?

Simsbury? Simsbury? You mean the development where someone was shot and killed about a year ago and you're worrying about a boat/camper being stored in someones driveway? Get real! Rusted out basketball hoops are welcome in the streets! Campers and boats? Bad!

Does the Mayor have family in Simsbury?$50 says new manager will have some old school ties...and you need a city manager who will be impartial and not pay the politics that have been in the city for so long...better betcha I am changing my vote...

I'm appalled. Tim Hansley came in with an abundance of knowledge and proven experience. Further, he has a well earned respect by regional leadership. He has been nothing but a wealth and benefit for this community and our neighbors.

A few neighbors fire up about boats, campers & grass that needs mowed and he's fired over it? Are you kidding me? That’s the lamest excuse I've ever heard and I'm not buying it for a minute. Not to mention that he's not given ample opportunity to respond or correct? I understand OH is an at will state, but in most corporate environments, there is an action plan for corrective measures before a termination.

We've lived in this community for over 15 years and he was one of the bright spots of our political leadership. It appears sadly now, that there are only a few left. As the other poster noted, we certainly know now who we will be supporting with our votes. The current leadership that voted for his removal should be questioned as to if they truly understand the position that we voted them to perform. This community needs dedication to a future and a plan, not reactors to the biggest whiners. This is our city's future, not a popularity contest.

First of all, these council members answer to you and I. They need to comment. I want to know what they will state in public print so that it can be documented if needed. Have you actually ever attended a council meeting? If so, you would realize that Fix is one of the few who actually makes sense....

A “stubborn streak”---you mean like his 14 years successfully working with Dublin and NW area officials before coming here???

I would agree with Observer, that sounds like dedication to a goal, I’d take that stubborn streak.

And I wouldn’t say Fix was grandstanding, I would say he was communicating with the community and explaining his voting rational. Interesting how you turn that around. What color is the sky in your world?

I agree!! Conincidentally, I am also from Rochester, NY but know Tim from his years of exemplary service in Dublin, OH. This is a huge loss for Pickerington.

Dublin got rid of him and now Pickerington - two cities of the beautiful people. And then there's Marsha Hall who was let go by Canal Winchester. All these people do is get tremendous salaries and spend tons of money. Anyone can "get the job done" with unlimited funds and carte blanche on spending. What are these positions needed for? Let's see, a city manager, doesn't the mayor manage the city? What's his pay and what's in his job description? All of this is political correctness phony baloney. If you don't want some guy's boat or truck next to your perfect house, then build on some acreage instead of these little postage stamp lots where everyone's on top of everyone else, but hey, they can say they live in Picktown, the former cow town that didn't even have a football field at the high school when I was growing up.

Fix is right...seems like Hansley's firing had little to do with his performance. Not very just if you ask me! Interesting that the Mayor had the deciding vote. Sounds like the Mayor actually had a personal issue with Hansley and used his position to arrange for Hansley's dismissal. Sounds fishy and I hope City Council will work to rectify the situation. Do we need a Mayor who puts personal agendas ahead of the needs of the City?! Why is it that no one who voted for his firing will reveal the actual details/reasons behind the dismissal? Hmmmm...

Daily Horoscope for November 27

Libra

If you had a bad day with your partner yesterday, today is the day to kiss and make up. The Moon blends with Neptune to create a romantic passion; this may be a little over the top, but sometimes a bit of drama is in order. Those of you with children may find them acting up, but if you listen closely, you'll find they really just want and need your attention.
