Not the fanciest or nicest, but locally owned with a very knowledgeable and helpful staff.

I like pet supplies plus. Good prices, very clean, usually helpful staff although some know less than I would like. That's where research comes in though. I tried going to Pets and Things. I will never go back. It was filthy and smelled like something had died. The clerk was also kind of "off." I was very disappointed to see that I would have to go pretty far off for marine fish.

Pets and Things is dirty and needs some elbow grease and TLC, but they have decent prices.
Pet Supplies is clean, high priced but has some decent deals occasionally.
Pet Land has occasional good sales on tetras @ 99 cents. But overall, they are high priced on dogs and cats and most other stuff. Their fish are prone to ick and other disorders. Thats my opin.
I have heard there were good salt water stores in Dunbar but don't know for sure. Now-a-days, I buy mostly on the internet. Live healthy fish and good supplies right to your door. Safer and much cleaner and cheaper.
