Residents in portions of the City of Laurel will experience a water interruption today and go under a boil water notice.

In a brief ceremony at the Jones County School Board headquarters on Highway 11 near Ellisville Monday, Lester Boyles was sworn in for another term as District 5 board member.

Jones County Fire Coordinator Dan McKenna said a Pendorff Community business owner's quest for a new insurance policy led to a discovery that he and members of the Jones County Board of Supervisors now have to address.

With a fire rating of ten, residents and businesses in the Curry and Pendorff Communities are subject to paying the highest fire insurance on their properties.
