Bryan County and the city of Pembroke honored the memory of Sgt. Bobby Crapse Friday morning with a street dedication.

The city of Pembroke will dedicate Sgt. Robert W. Crapse Drive at 9 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Public Safety Way and Judge John R. Harvey Drive.

Nearly a year ago, June 15, 2012, Bryan County Deputy Sheriff Robert W. "Bobby" Crapse was killed in a head-on collision on Interstate 95. A public ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. this Friday in which the city of Pembroke will rename Public Safety Way to Sergeant Robert W. Crapse Drive.

The arrests shut down two operations that manufactured and distributed methamphetamine and other drugs in Chatham, Bryan, Bulloch and Effingham counties.

Bulloch County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Jared Akins said bond is routinely denied at the Bulloch County Jail for "significant felonies" such as charges against James William Harvey, 45, of Longwood Drive.

The arrests were part of the dismantling of two separate methamphetamine organizations that were operating in Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, and Bulloch counties, according to Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team.

According to Georgia State Patrol reports, Jessie S. Callaway, 22, of North Main Street in Pembroke, was traveling south on Bennett Grooms Road around 6:35 p.m., when he tried passing two vehicles in front of him, traveling in the same direction.
