A 45-year-old Peculiar man died Monday after being thrown from the ATV he was driving.Vernon Miller was driving the 2007 Yamaha Grizzly eastbound on 231st Street about 7:30 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve.

The Lee's Summit city council Thursday night upheld a decision by city administrator Steve Arbo to award a contract to V. F. Anderson Builders, Peculiar, MO, over the objections of Kansas City attorney Steve Miller, representing competitive bidder, Redford Construction, also of Peculiar.
