New county welcome signs almost finished
On Saturday, May 26, John Green with Anson Sign Co. installed the first name plate on new welcome signs that are being constructed at the eastern, western, northern and southern borders of the county.
Peachland gets new weather alert siren
The town of Peachland now has a new "weather alert siren" that will be activated by the 911 Center in the event of a tornado alert in the vicinity of Peachland.
A motion from the June 4 Board of Elections meeting that would have relocated some voting locations around Anson died at the board's June 18 meeting.
Polkton gas station destroyed by fire
The Marathon gas station in Polkton was destroyed by a fire on Thursday, March 18.
