"Ask not, what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country........." People who were willing to sacrifice, and face grave risk, for the common good, without any prospect of immediate gratification..... thank god for these people, they saved us.

GREAT JOB LADIES. I just wish they honored you and many others along time ago. You are respected and honored by many of us regardless of medals. Congrats.

Mabel Rawlinson was one of the 38 WASP that made the ultimate sacrifice and she definitely deserves the congressional medal.

It was at Camp Davis on the night of August 23, 1943, that Mabel lost her life when her airplane crashed and was consumed by flames. She became one of the very special women, numbering only thirty-eight, who served and died as pilots for the Air Force in World War II.

Since WASP were technically considered volunteer civilian pilots and not Air Force pilots, no monetary compensation was available to the Rawlinson family for her funeral expenses.

The other female pilots at Camp Davis pooled their extra money and assisted in the expense of transporting Mabel’s casket back to Kalamazoo for burial.

A friend from Van Nuys Ca was one who ferried planes to Alaska during the 2ndWW. I remember hearing her testimony at Van Nuys Christain Science Church. During the Malibu fire in the 80's one helicopter pilot rescued her from her pool in the Malibu hills close to Thousand Oaks-----She had taught him how to fly and he went to check on her.The only choice she had was the pool as the hills were burning around her- She was one gutsy lady with great faith in God to take care of her,

What a terrific legacy these ladies have given us. How much MORE of a legacy we would have been honored with if the Government had permitted Black women to have had the same opportunity as these ladies were given. Additionally, how ironic it is that a Black President will honor these great ladies.......when none from his race was permitted to have participated in this venture.

So You Blacks are still blaming the Whites for all that is happening to your race!!
Why then are blacks killing blacks as fast as they can in every big city??
