A Parkton volunteer firefighter was charged Thursday with six counts of setting woodlands on fire because he apparently liked the "adrenaline rush" of battling the blazes, according to an arson investigator with the Sheriff's Office.

Several students with Robeson County ties were named to the honor roll at East Carolina University.

A would-be burglar was able to elude lawmen during a chase Monday afternoon even after he wrecked his vehicle and had to flee on foot.
