The annual Parker Races an off-roading , high-speed festival take place the weekend of January 6 and 7, and February 3 and 4. The 41st annual desert races will make staying on public lands near the popular boondocking City of Parker dangerous , so organizers simply close it off to other recreationalists.

I think Buckskin Mountain State Park is one of the best places to camp when traveling along the Colorado River in west-central Arizona.

Veterans Day marks the last national park free day in 2011, and the Bureau of Land Management will be taking part as well.
