1 man dead, another in Bourbon County jail after Paris stabbing

I first want to say that i did not personally know derrick but my husband was good friends with him in school and my prayers go out to his family and friends. However i do know billy very well. Billy was married to my mother for thirteen years and raised my two sisters and i. So too all the people out there that claim to know billy, and say that he is a violent man, especially when he drinks, you dont know shit. I watched billy drink almost on a daily business for half my life and he was NEVER violent. Billy was a crying drunk lol, we all used to laugh about it growing up. So to say that he got mad and delibertly took a knife and killed someone, is joke. And thats another thing, BILLY NEVER CARRIED A KNIFE AND NEVER USED A KNIFE IN A FIGHT. I never saw billy with a knife growing up, outside of using it as a tool for fishing. I dont know exactly what happened that night, but i do know billy. He is not blameless here but he DOES NOT deserve to spend the rest of his life his prison for an accident. This was an unintentional accident. I am sure that when sharon cheated on billy with derrick she did not intend to get derrick killed because of it. I am sure that when she called derrick to billys house that night she did not for him to get killed because of that choice. I am sure that when derrick whent to billys house that night he did not intend for that choice to lead to his death. I am sure that when billy went to derricks house that night he did not intend for derrick to die. I am sure that when derrick opened his door to confront billy, because why else would you open the door for the man whose girlfriend you were sleeping with, he did not intend for the confrontation to lead to his death. However, because of all of these peoples choices, a mans life was cut horribly short that night. In no way am i suggesting that derricks death should be looked over and go unpunished. But i dont believe that justice would be served in punishing a man for the rest of his life for something that was not his fault only...

And was not an intentional heinous act. And to the people that are bringing up billys past e.p.o.s and violent history (that they see on record, im sure), you dont know my mom, since thats who they were against. My mother was an alcoholic, and the violent drunk. Most of those times billy was arrested and she got e.p.o.s against him, it was because she was pissed at him, not because he hit her. My mother has cheated on billy in the past, and billy knew the guys, but he didnt kill them. Again, i am not asking anyone to overlook the sadness of this situation, but this case needs to be looked at objectively. There is a bigger picture here beyond the grief of loosing what im sure was a wonderful decent person. Because of grief another wonderful decent person should not lose their life as well. And i know thats what billy is. He raised my sisters and i when we were not his, so i know he loves his daughter. My mother and him tried to have a child for thirteen years, without success. All he wanted was a child. He kept my mother together and helped her the best he could when we were growing up. He's not perfect, but he is not a murderer. We love you billy and are always here for you, and we have faith justice WILL be served in this case.

I competely agree- if this is Brandy, Bre, or Sheree- this is Brittany. I am behind everything you just said 100%. We all knew Billy, and we all know that no matter how long he's been OUT of the family; we still know he is not this person everyone is making him out to be. And I definitely do NOT think that he should spend his life in prison. We know the truth, we know this was a tragic thing that happened, and we also know that it was by complete accident that this man was killed. Billy would never intentionally KILL anyone. And he hasn't been part of our family for a while but we still consider him a part of it. We love him no matter what and we stand behind him and support him through everything, and through ALL of this. Family is Family. Period.

I did not know either of them and have only heard what has been said, but is it not true that Billy went to Derricks house WITH a knife? Maybe Derrick should have never let him in but how was he to know there was a knife involved? Going to Derricks house with a weapon of any kind, does that not fall under premeditation? I am not passing judgement on anyone. As I said I did not know either of them but the final outcome is still the same. A young man lost his life, a mother lost her son, a child lost their father all because of bad decisions.

Look at his record with your mother in the court system, I've seen it, yet he's not violent? She told me herself about him having her up against the sink with his hands around her throat and her daughters had to go call 911.! What about the last time when he yanked her hair and she had him arrested and then he was beat by the police? Huh?

I think its enough about Billy. personally i think he was on drugs because ive seen him. Billy may havent been violent in the past but people change. after him and Kim split up he went way down hill. All there is left to say is that Billy IS a murderer, he took an innocent life away, weather or not Derek was sleeping with his girlfriend,its not something to kill a person over.Derek is dead and Billys will be in prison. nad i hope its for life. someone like that should stay in the pen FOREVER.

No its not true that billy went to derricks house with a knife. Everyone is assuming things they dont really know. Who is to say it was not derrick who came to the door with the knife. There were no witnesses cause his uncle did not get out of bed until derrick came back in the house, which is strange because he said on the news that billy knocking on the door woke him up and he came out to derrick and a girl talking, before derrick opened th door. So which is it, did he witness anything or not. Because if not, no one can say who had the knife.

First off i would like to know who you are since you seem to know so much about my family, and i dont have to look at his records, I WAS THERE FOR IT ALL. No its not enough about billy, because his loved ones refuse to see him railroaded for an accident. And no one is claiming billy did not do drugs or drink, but a user does not a murderer make. And i know for a fact that derrick used too. I can name three or four seperate incidents where derrick came to my house trying to get my husband to find him drugs. And no people do NOT change that much, a person that can murder someone is someone that always had an evil nature, and billy didn't and doesn't. And since you where not there that night, your statement that he IS a murderer is ignorant and based on emotion and not facts. Look at them, alot of things dont add up.

And another little thing people should know, derrick called several people that night before billy came up there, saying he wanted them to come over and help him, why i dont know. But maybe it was because he knew billy would come to his house and he knew there would be a fight and he wanted back up. One of my biggest point is why did derrick open the door for billy if billy was this big viscous, violent man capable of murder, like everyone is claiming they have always known he was. If charles manson came to my door i wouldn't open it for him, i would call the police. Why would i do anything else, unless i knew i had a way to hurt him ie a weapon, other people to help, etc. Look at ALL the facts, not just the fact that someone lost their life.

I am billys ex-wife, and i would like for the person who claims that i told them all this stuff about billy beating me to name themselves and ask their questions and to direct their comments about this to me. I was beaten very badly by a man other than billy in my past and i do NOT support or condone someone that does that. I know the mistakes i have made in my past and i admit to them. I have a grandson and i can sympathise with derricks family, i would NEVER support or take up for someone that would intentionally kill someone else. But i am supporting billy because i know him and i know he is not capable of murder, no one changes that much.

If it was an accident like yall say it is, how come he wa stabbed 3 times? you say he was stabbed with a knife? but autopsy says they arent sure what he was stabbed with. they cannot find weapon. billy may have not carried a knife..but yall dont know it was a knife. they dont know what it is.

What they said was Sharon had taken 3 steak knives from her house to Billy's. They can only find 2 of them. Wouldn't surprise me if Sharon did it trying to break up the fight.

I would LOVE for you people to put your real names, we are. WE aren't afraid to for people to know who we are and how we feel. Lol you are speaking on things you DONT know about. Yes my mother had a past and she has NEVER denied that. But for the particular incident you so...

..'knowingly' speak on, my mother missed a court date to go to her MOTHERS funeral and they put her warrant in the paper. So keep going with your stupid, biased comments, it only looks bad on you. And I have noticed that no one can comment on the inconsistencies in this case.

I cant comment on the number of times derrick was stabbed because i was not there. Although i can think of several situations were that could happen, especially if they are rolling down...

A hill with the 'knife' or whatever between them. Did any of you know that billy had defensive wounds on his face and hands from a sharp knife like object, wonder where those came from. I can guess that next you people will say he did it to himself right. And we keep saying knife because everyone on here commenting is saying billy took a knife and stabbed derrick. This is the first i have heard of the autopsy. But that goes to show that it could not have been one of the steak knives brought to his house..
