Borough fuming over trash station
A developer who in fall proposed putting a strip mall in a former paint pigment plant along Route 248 in Carbon County now proposes putting a garbage and recycling transfer station there.
Duane Schleicher of East Penn Township, owner of East Penn Trucking and a mobile home park in the township, already has had his plans for the former Prince Manufacturing plant rejected by Bowmanstown's Zoning Hearing Board.
But he's appealed and has a public hearing scheduled for 7 p.m. May 21 in borough hall. Read more
