OWENS CROSS ROADS, Alabama -- A woman reported to police this morning that a burglar stole her car and other property from her southeast home's garage overnight.

Madison County deputies opened a new investigation into the disappearance of a Madison County woman who's been missing for more than a year.

Madison County sheriff's investigators are using cadaver dogs and a backhoe to search a Hill Road home for a woman who has been missing for about a year, officials at the scene said.

Both drivers -- Ruth Elliott, 40, of Huntsville, and Lynnae Hall, of Owens Cross Roads -- were taken by ambulance to Huntsville Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
