The crash occurred around 6:38 p.m. at the intersection of state Route 104 and county Route 20 in the town of Oswego. Oswego County 911 said the crash was reported as a head-on collision involving a tractor-trailer and a car.

Developers have been able to put together a deal that will allow a stalled project to move forward to rehabilitate the three-story commercial building at 259 J.B. Wise Place with new upper-floor apartments and renovated commercial space. Donald W. Rutherford, CEO of the Watertown Local Development Corp., has learned that Oswego developer Thomas Millar and New York City investor Howard Eisenberg plan to proceed with the project with the building's owner, Thomas E. Horning.

Oswego reports more mosquito-borne virus

More mosquitoes infected with the potentially deadly Eastern equine encephalitis and West Nile viruses have turned up in Oswego County. The Oswego County Health Department reported EEE was found in ten new mosquito samples collected last week.

Rare schooner discovered in N.Y.

Jim Kennard, Roger Pawlowski, and Roland Stevens located the schooner in early July utilizing high resolution side scan sonar equipment. A rare dagger-board schooner, Three Brothers, has been discovered in deep water off Oswego, N.Y., by a volunteer team, the National Museum of the Great Lakes in Toledo announced today.

Court refuses to order Novelis to bargain with Steelworkers union

A federal judge in Syracuse has rejected a request that he order Novelis Inc. to bargain with the Steelworkers union pending a ruling on allegations that the company engaged in unfair labor practices at its big aluminum factory near Oswego. In a decision issued Thursday, U.S. District Court Court Judge Gary Sharpe refused a request by the National Labor Relations Board that he issue an interim order requiring Novelis to treat the Steelworkers as the bargaining agent for nearly 600 hourly workers at the plant in Scriba.
