We should put the parents away as well for not being responsible enough to knowing what their childred were involved in. Parent be parents not friends.

I guess we can asume that IF you are a parent you ALWAYS know where your kids are and EXACTLY what they are doing and WHO they are doing it with.
24 hours a day all year long.

CONGRATULATIONS.

Just so your aware us Parents have already been handed our life sentence without bail without paroll and without a chance to fix any mistakes we might of made. If you think for one minute we wouldn't take our childs place in a heartbeat, think again. We were all awaken in the early morning hours to be told our child died in a car accident, do you have any clue what the defening sound of those words do to a mother? We will for the rest of our lives wonder where we went wrong and feel responsible. Every morning we wake up is another day or our life sentence we have been given but yet we didn't break any laws.Unlike the driver that drove my son to his death despite his plea for her to pull over and let him out. She broke many laws that night and has not paid for any of them or taken any responsibility for any of her bad decisions and from what i hear she continues to make similar ones. So you let me know what law it is I broke and what more punishment than having to live with my sons death day after day that your looking for and well talk. And please don't ignor me now im really intrested in you response!

Come on Oswego...put on your big boy/girl pants on and respond!!

There is no sentence that is equal to what the parents have to go through everyday and there is also no other sentence worse than what those 5 kids paid for their decisions.

Now...lets have Sandra pay for her decision for every irresponsible thing she did that night! I think we have waited long enough. She has been able to live life large while everyone else has had to suffer all because of her!

The parents have suffered enough, and unfortunetly, all of parents have learned from this also, no matter what know where your kids are even if it means checking up on them, honestly, I check up on my kids whenever they go anywhere, maybe I am being to overprotective, but I am sure if the parents of those children had the chance to do anything over I am sure they would god bless and I will keep all in my prayers.

It's funny how things are so one-sided. I absolutely disapprove of drunk driving...it is WRONG!...however it is not just the drivers fault. As an young adult in high school, you should know better than to get in the car with a drunk driver. Also as someone who knows family members of the victims, the children's parents also play a role. They refused to get their own kids late at night!!!!! If your teens come to you asking for help and a ride home, don't refuse and then blame someone who made VERY poor judgment in trying to do the right thing and bring them home!!!

I dont know if the parents refused to get their kids late that night....but I would think the parents would have got them if called.....granted some poor decisions were made that night by the KIDS they or their families were not driving the car, anther adult was and she must answer to her actions in court. please ohsgrad06 if you were in your 20's and of legal drinking age would you drive many kids underaged in your car when you are drunk....as adults we must make good desisions because if we dont many may suffer

So, you must be one of those people who believe every rumor that they hear uh? Were YOU there that night? Did you hear the kids call their parents and ask them for a ride home?
Do you have super powers that allow you to speak to teens who were killed to know all your information? Or is it possible that you are friends with Sandra. The facts of the case of been repeated time and time again. Sandra was the driver, she was drunk, she was speeding, it was her vehicle, and she crashed it into a utility pole and killed 5 kids! Those are the facts! Please don't be like Oswego and try to blame the parents or the kids. They are paying more than enough for mistakes they MAY have made that night!

I'll respond and say it's a little bit of everyones fault! You can look at it any way you want. It is more of the fault of the driver obviously. God hope nothing happens like this again!

Sad thing is that this will happen again and again and again. As much as we want to - parents cannot babysit their teens 24/7/365, teens often think they are invicible and bad things won't happen to them so they often make bad decisions, and drunk people will keep getting behind the wheel without thinking about the possible consequences.

I still pray every day that the loved ones of those that died in the crash learn how to live with this loss in their life (as it is impossible to truly heal), that the survivors don't go down the wrong path because they are unable to face what happened, that Sandra's children will have enough positive influences in their lives to balance whatever punishment comes down the line for their mother, that Sandra's parents some day learn how not to be an enabler, and that Sandra some day accepts blame for her actions and truly apologizes to these families.

Hopefully the trial doesn't suffer more long delays so that this chapter in this tragedy finally gets written.

No it is not everyone's fault. There was one person who decided to get behind the wheel of her car after drinking and allow 8 kids to get in there knowing full well it was not safe!

That attitude helps no one in the future! It was everyones fault. The driver has to take the responsibility. Get it. I know what you mean but face it, they all should not have been in that situation. All of them. They all messed up, period! The driver messed up more.

Daily Horoscope for November 29

Scorpio

You need to take time out to spend with your partner today as he/she probably has something they need to share with you. If you don't take the time now, while empathetic Neptune is stimulated by the caring Moon, you'll find that tomorrow won't go very smoothly. Take this opportunity to work things out, even if it's the last thing you want to do today. A little sacrifice is called for.
