The Robeson County Board of Elections voted to change polling places in Orrum, Lumberton, Marietta and Raynham for the Nov.

State Rep. G.L. Pridgen says he is considering pursuing legislation that would restrict anyone but legal guardians from registering to vote individuals who have been ruled mentally incompetent by the courts.

Cleatis Mae Sweat, 72, of 121 Coward Drive, Fairmont, died May 19, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

The bride is the daughter of Howard and Regina Branch of Orrum, and the granddaughter of Sonny and Margaret Cox, and E.H. and Minnie Branch, all of Lumberton.

Carl Edward Ivey, 71, of St. Pauls, died May 1, 2012, at his residence. A graveside committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cook-Barfield Family Cemetery on Tobacco Road in Orrum.
