Why does this Johnson clown keep popping up? He doesn't speak for the boat owners.

Thank you, Paul. A much better story than the one by the Oroville MR author!

There must be a way to make getting a buoy on Lake Oroville fair. I am a local who has had my boat in dry-dock for 5 years now because I can't get a buoy, yet newer, bigger and more expensive boats are being put on the lake and when asked about where they were on the list, I can't get a straight answer. My humble little weekend getaway can't compete with big money.....

Mr Johnson is a boat owner. He does speak for more than 200+ boat owners in bidwell marina who have had concerns about how the current marina operator has been running the marina. If you had to sign a contract that states you have no rights if your boat is damaged, even if bouy lines are faulty you wouldnt be mouthing off.

I feel a unbiased reporter should look at this whole thing and give a report on facts........not heresay......show the pros and cons......from both sides of the debate....so much B S floating arund it is hard to know what is happening.....some people are going to a lot of expense because of the mis information......the reporter should walk around the marina and see how the maintenance is lacking.....

no one will live long enough to get a bouy because the first 100 boats that sell will have to leave? Call James Luscotoff now he'll tell you that the maximum amount of boats allowed is going to be 800 so until that number is reached by attrition no boats will get bouys. That will take years. If you want to sell your boat ok but that boat must be removed period. After 800 is reached if you sell the new owner must be the next on the state bouy waiting list or forget it again because there has to room made for the next person on the list. Luscotoff wants equal opportunity for the public of cal to have the right to houseboat ownership and he believes it should be run as campgrounds are. When you're time is up you need to move on to another location, except Luscotoff isn't providing other locations to move to is he? The idea is stupid and will actually create less opportunity for any ownership by selling fewer boats and therefore fewer boats leaving, this is a no brainer. It does create an administrative nightmare though. State mentality at it's finest, take a look at the state as it is, take a good thing and screw it totally up! If you're concerned about what is going on be sure to call Luscotoff and ask him why? Of course I'm sure he realizes moving camp spots is simple, pack up the car and drive to the next spot, moving a houseboat is another story. Call Luscotoff today he has an answer for everything and don't interrupt him or he'll yell and tell you how rude you are. We can speak for ourselves we don't need Jerry Johnson and you can too.....call today!

The state is requiring the new concessionaire to install all new facilities to the tune of over $3M.

The State is also requiring a reduction in the number of moorings (i.e., reduced income to the operator), but is not reducing the percentage of revenue paid to the State.

How do you think this will affect the price of everything at the marina, including the moorings?

That's right...hold on to your wallets!
