Take a close look at the picture. Do you see any Hispanics? Half of Orland's residents are Hispanic.
I am in a tourist town right now. There are many Hispanics both working here and visiting. The only red, white and blue I see are worn my whites and Asians. Whenever I say" Happy 4th of July to a Hispanic", I get a dirty look. This includes those working in the Casinos. Now if it was Cinco De Mayo, we must bow to that concept. This was not even a Mexican Independence Day, just one small battle they won. Remember the Alamo? A handful of people tried to defend the fort, and an Army of Mexican soldiers ruthlessly slaughtered them all. I doubt the public schools even tell this story now, and if they do, it is some revisionist history that portrays the Americans as the bad guys. know there are some Hispanics that are patriotic and can appreciate America, but they are the families that have lived here long enough to appreciate and understand what this country stands for. |

I'll add that the Hispanic American families that do wave the American flag have been intimated my the masses of new immigration, those encouraged to use socialist programs and to hate what America stands for.
Abre los ojos amigos, este país está por la libertad y la libertad. Aprender a respetar y apreciar América y su apoyo. Es por el bien de todos. |

One of the best celebrations..The park was full of young kids and families..what fun we all had!! The music was wonderful and the recognition of veterans from all branches of service was inspiring!! The car show was the largest ever and food great!! See you next year!!!

Yes, next year. Same circle of people running the show, same circle of people honored. Same guy leading the band who is the son of the same lady that runs the social circle, whose in and who don't get in. This celebration isn't so much about Old Glory as it is about the good old boys and girls that run the county.
Bruce Roundy described it as “the epitome of small-town Americaâ€. Wow, how many people in the crowd knew what that word epitome†meant? I do not consider this town the ideal example of America. It is not inclusive, as shown in the picture. It is whom you know for opportunity. It is whom you know to get promotions or even get hired into county or city government. Some people can skirt the law and then brag about it, while others are harassed for reason of vindictiveness because one of the elitist families put out the word through the gossip network. The media is controlled tightly. If a news story reflects badly on one of the insiders, it is hidden from the public. This is not the America our founders intended. (Not bashing the veterans however, thank you folks for your service to this country.) |

The only time they wave the American flag is when they are demanding rights. The rest of the time they spit or burn it. These are the rudest people to ever set foot on American soil. Ugh, what an ugly race |

I belong to a motorcycle club and next year there's going to be about 20 - 50 bikers there.
We'll all bring the Mexican flag and burn them. Let's see how they like that. |
