Humboldt County residents in the Trinidad, Blue Lake and Orick areas are currently experiencing a widespread power outage, according to representatives with PG&E. The outage occurred at 5:22 a.m. when a tree came into contact with some of PG&E's power lines.

A wanted Oregon parolee was arrested Wednesday in Orick after the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office received numerous complaints of illegal drug activity.
