This is really needed in Valley County. Now we can have some educated fools!

They could have a class on road maintenance so that the roads can be something besides a series of potholes and gullies. This would be a simple class. The class outline would be:
A. Put a crown on the road and the potholes will disappear like magic.
B. Lower the shoulders so the water can get into the ditch and not wash a gully along the edge of the road.
C. Go apply what you learned; class dismissed.

Hopefully they will have some classes on fiscal responsibility for elected and appointed officials. They could teach them that you cannot spend yourselves into prosperity. Officials in Valley County make a drunken sailor look like a spend thrift.
They spent millions on the Ord downtown project and it is no better then before. Businesses still jack you with high prices. Is that why we see Ord businessmen shopping in Grand Island? Then there is the new first aid station up on the hill. That will drive up taxes. A new fire station and still talk of a new school after voters voted it down. What part of no do they not understand?

One class could be what a “no” vote means.

Maybe a class on how to vote for pro-capitalist representatives. If we could get some capitalist minded representatives maybe they will sell the socialist Valley County Health System (Hillary Care) to a private company that will not deny services to patients because of their choice of doctors.

Dang, Cowboy, tell me how you really feel! Seriously though, please note that I live far far away form there now for a reason.(Mostly work related) But its just as bad everywhere else you go man, down here we have more potholes that I have ever experienced in the sandhills and beyond, yet it never snows or ices here. I once watched a road crew repair a pot hole by shoveling in some asphalt and smoothing it out with the shovel! No wonder the filled in pot holes wash out every rain.

But I feel your pain man, it was the local elections in 2006 that drove me over the edge and I said "F@ck it! I'm moving" That was the year that the Nebraska people voted that the state government NOT has spending limits! The old saying goes "You reap what you sow." I didn't sow that problem, but I sure didn't want to reap what would happen years down the road either! I was quite surprised that the budget bombed so early, usually it takes 6 or 7 years for that kind of stuff to trickle down.

Just my (more than) two cents, see you later, Cowboy...

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Cancer

If you're busy with a last-minute Christmas shopping trip it will be easy to lose track of how much you're spending, particularly if you're in a panic and desperate to tick off every name on your list. However, you might be in for a nasty shock later on when you tot up the massive amount of money that you parted with. So try to keep a running total in your head or stick to a strict budget for each gift.
