Dredging begins at Sebastian Inlet

JUAN DALE BROWN/TREASURE COAST NEWSPAPERS Dickerson Florida Inc. of Fort Pierce began dredging on a $1.3 million project to deepen the Sebastian Inlet and remove sand from a 42-acre depression that traps sand before it can ooze into the channel.

Indian River County officials continue search for affordable beach erosion solutions

Orchid Mayor Richard Dunlop and Indian River Shores Mayor Tom Cadden are expected to meet with county beach advisers in coming weeks to help choose a computer model that could show how various anti-erosion structures could work on the county's beaches.

Orchid tentatively agrees to keep tax rate steady
