Sunshine -- did you get the above information from your buddy "SodaHead" ... because it sure does not match-up with information published by many other sources. ~~~~~ Does the word HYPOCRACY appear in the following quotes from John Boehner?? Not once ... ~~~ Are these words and actions from John Boehner (R-OH), MINORITY Leader (GOP-Republicans) HYPOCRACY??? It sure looks like HYPOCRACY to me … and a few hundred million others that keep track of stuff. ~~~ "[Health reform legislation] should be posted on line for 72 hours so members and the American people get a chance to see what's in these bills." -- House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH), 10/08/09 http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,562180,00... VERSUS Q: Will the Republicans put their alternative online for 72 hours as well? BOEHNER: Uh, we'll uh, we'll have our ideas ready. Don't worry. -- Boehner, 10/29/09 http://thinkprogress.org/2009/10/29/boehner-g... ~~~ "Why won’t Bohner post the GOP plan? Because he doesn’t have one. Later in the press conference, this minor detail was revealed when a reporter pressed Boehner for a GOP alternative plan: QUESTION: Is it your plan to have one Republican alternative that you all would get behind and endorse? BOHNER: We have a number of ideas that we would like to proffer in this process, and we’re not quite sure how the majority intends to proceed. And so until we understand how they intend to proceed, -->> it’s pretty difficult for us to have a solid plan." [[ BUT they are at liberty to condemn every other attempt at equitable health care reform!!]] Watch the VIDEO here; http://thinkprogress.org/2009/10/29/boehner-g... ~~~ Please note that the above posting have links to "oringinal sources" - YOU the reader can then determine the validity of the information - as opposed to "opinion" that flows from cable programs. ~~!~~ |

I love it! Can't deal with the message, so go after the messenger. The republicans do not have a written plan because they have not had the Apollo Project, the George Soros group, the Tides Foundation, SCIU, and other "interested" parties partaking in the writing of this monstrous bill over the past 8 years, with precepts going back to the days of Carter. This bill has the establishment of "school based health clinics" Great. Children likely being examined without their parents being present or expressed written consent. Services include mental health, physical education (sex ed.), oral exams, psychiatric evaluations, counseling, etc. This bill regulates vending machines. Vending machines. What?? This bill has a "healthy teens initiative" that provides for the following: ‘‘(1) to delay initiation of sex; ‘‘(2) to decrease number of partners; ‘‘(3) to reduce teen pregnancy; ‘‘(4) to reduce sexually transmitted infection rates; or ‘‘(5) to improve rates of contraceptive use. Hmm, nothing about abstinence, is there? Read this piece of socialist commie garbage for yourself. Pick your favorite items, there's lots to choose from. http://health.burgess.house.gov/UploadedFiles... Wake up folks, this is completely unconstitutional. |

1 Highlights: The total cost to the taxpayer would be 61 billion (opposed to the 1.2 trillion of taxpayer money that the Democrats want to spend). The plan will essentially keep the total percentage of insured individuals at around the current percentage of 83%. Premium rates would decrease across the board.(That's lower cost private insurance, y'all) The plan assumes tort reform, no government-option health care, and the ability to buy insurance across state lines. So which one will be better for the country? Big government, massive bureaucracy, spending $Trillions, death panels, waiting lists, pay for service fees, penalties, no second choices, no private pay services, all doctors becoming gov't employees, OR streamlining and improving the way we have it now, for less than 1/10 the cost of the democrat bill? |

Read it for yourself Eldon. It's better for our country and our freedom. Bear in mind, if "comprehensive health care" is a basic "right" that should be provided by the government, what's to stop the argument that housing, food and clothing should not be provided as well? Who becomes the master, who becomes the servant? Government health care as proposed by the democrats makes them your master. Not the country I grew up in, nor what I desire for my children. |

3 Trillion dollar boondoggle. Hey Eldon, still think this is a good idea?
There is still the republican plan once this one fails in the senate. Read the following, as if it is any surprise that the commie Pelosi would use smoke and mirrors to sell her socialist takeover of your health decisions. <<<Senator Gregg: Updated CBO Estimate of House Bill Pulls Back the Curtain on Majority’s Intent to Grow Government by $3 Trillion Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH), ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee today commented on the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) more detailed cost estimate of the manager’s amendment to the House health reform bill. Senator Gregg stated,“The CBO estimate released last night finally sheds light on the smoke and mirrors game the majority has been playing with the cost of their health care reform proposal. Over the first 10 years, this legislation builds in gross new spending of $1.7 trillion – and most of the new spending doesn’t even start until 2014. Once that spending is fully phased in, the House Democratic bill rings up at more than $3 trillion over ten years. “Additionally, this bill cuts critical Medicare and Medicaid funding by $628 billion, accounts for nearly $1.2 trillion in tax and fee increases and will explode the scope of government by putting the nation’s health care system in the hands of Washington bureaucrats. The $3 trillion price tag defies common sense – we simply cannot add all this new spending to the government rolls and claim to control the deficit.>>> |

Hey Eldon, your buddies in the house, Costa and Cardoza, voted to put you in jail if you don't have health insurance. Do you support that bit of "freedom"?
By Dick Morris and Eileen McGann The nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation reported that the House version of the healthcare bill specifies that those who don’t buy health insurance and do not pay the fine of about 2.5 percent of their income for failing to do so can face a penalty of up to five years in prison! The bill describes the penalties as follows: • Section 7203 — misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year. • Section 7201 — felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years.”[page 3] That anyone should face prison for not buying health insurance is simply incredible. And how much will the stay-out-of-jail insurance cost? The Joint Committee noted that “according to a recent analysis by the Congressional Budget Office, the lowest-cost family non-group plan under HR 3862 [the Pelosi bill] would cost $15,000 by 2016.” |

~~ LOBBYIST write speeches for (GOP) Congressman ~~
In House, Many Spoke With One Voice: Lobbyists’ "One of the reasons I have long supported the U.S. biotechnology industry is that it is a homegrown success story that has been an engine of job creation in this country.” This written statement by Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina on the health care bill was identical to one by Representative Blaine Luetkemeyer and used language suggested by lobbyists. [[ Aahh yes - infamous "You Lie" Joe Wilson ... one of the Poster Boyz for GOP ]] WASHINGTON — In the official record of the historic House debate on overhauling health care, the speeches of many lawmakers echo with similarities. Often, that was no accident. Statements by more than a dozen lawmakers were ghostwritten, in whole or in part, by Washington lobbyists working for Genentech, one of the world’s largest biotechnology companies. E-mail messages obtained by The New York Times show that the lobbyists drafted one statement for Democrats and another for Republicans. The lobbyists, employed by Genentech and by two Washington law firms, were remarkably successful in getting the statements printed in the Congressional Record under the names of different members of Congress. Genentech, a subsidiary of the Swiss drug giant Roche, estimates that 42 House members picked up some of its talking points — 22 Republicans and 20 Democrats, an unusual bipartisan coup for lobbyists. In an interview, Representative Bill Pascrell Jr., Democrat of New Jersey, said:“I regret that the language was the same. I did not know it was.” He said he got his statement from his staff and “did not know where they got the information from.” MORE ... http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/15/us/politics... ~~!~~ |

~~ RESONSE - FACTS as opposed to OPINIONS ~~
"Hey Eldon, your buddies in the house, Costa and Cardoza, voted to put you in jail if you don't have health insurance. Do you support that bit of "freedom"?" ~~~ FactsCheck.org Q: Could somebody be imprisoned for not purchasing health insurance under the House health care bill? A: Both House and Senate bills would levy a tax on persons who refuse to obtain coverage. Willfully evading that tax could result in jail time under the bill passed by the House – but not the bill approved by the Senate Finance Committee. FULL ANSWER The letter attached to our reader’s question was written by Thomas Barthold, chief of staff of the House Joint Committee on Taxation, to Rep. Dave Camp of Michigan, on the subject of enforcing the individual health insurance mandate of H.R. 3962, the House-passed bill. That mandate requires people to have health insurance, unless they are below a certain income threshold ($9,350 for singles,$18,700 for couples in 2009). Those who don’t get coverage will be subject to a tax of 2.5 percent of their adjusted income beyond that threshold, up to the cost of the average national premium. The letter from the JCT includes a list of civil and criminal penalties. These aren’t penalties for not buying insurance, however. They’re penalties for refusing to pay the resulting tax. Barthold’s letter says: ~~~ [[ NOTE – for clarity, answers for these complex questions can’t be written on a Bumper Sticker as our conservative friends do … for more details go here; ]] MORE … http://factcheck.org/2009/11/imprisoned-for-n... ~~!~~ |

Eldon, is this freedom or tyranny? You are FORCED by the federal government to submit to their health insurance law or be fined/jailed.
If they get away with this, what's next to be FORCED upon us? This is just step one to the total takeover of your personal freedoms. In my country, if I choose to take the risk of having no insurance, then the responsibility is mine. Obamacare takes away my personal responsibility for myself and replaces it with their decisions trumping my own concerning simple medical care to life and death decisions. It is wrong, it is communist, it is indicative of enemies (domestic) against our constitution. Dangerous legislation, needs to be stopped at the senate level. Too bad we have 2 commies in CA. |

CMS: House health bill will hike costs $289B
http://thehill.com/homenews/house/67791-cms-h... Hey Eldon, the savings! The coverage! The improved care! It is a fantasy... Communism has never worked anywhere it's been tried. C'mon, join the rest of us and fight to preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies (George Soros, Hugo Cavez, Putin, Ak-I'm-a-Nut-Job in Iraq, Castro, the Mao Tse Tung memorial clubbers) foreign and (Obama and his administration) domestic. You're a bright guy, figure it out. It's not about health care, it's about control and an unprecedented power grab. Besides, health care is not a right, or entitlement, it is a service. Food, shelter, clothing and transportation are greater basic needs than health care. Should they be an entitlement as well? Who pays for it, and what is the cost? |

".. It's not about health care, " I suggest you interview one hundred of the un-insured Americans, from the tens of millions of un-insured Americans in this Great Republic. AND then honestly report how they feel about Health Care Reform. Many of the uninsured are also PATRIOTS. Many may have served in the United States Military. Many may be under-employed ... that includes self-caused and many other reasons. Most are NOT looking for cradle to grave support, just simply a "safety net". Many may not fit your personal characteristics as "ideological colleagues”, but they are fellow citizens and should be judged on individual merit. They should not be victims of a campaign by “..Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) discussed the Republican strategy to delay and derail health reform,” Read More .. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/15/mcco... And, YES, I know you will continue to define everybody as a “communist” or “commie” with whom you disagree. How sad. I assume that you have filed the applicable reports with the FBI and/or Homeland Security and/or Dick Cheney regarding your recent disclosures of the following American citizens; [] Congressman Barney Frank [] Senator Barbara Boxer [] Senator Diane Feinstein [] POTUS Barack Obama [] eldon thompson [] 100 John and Jane Does Of course if the Federal Agencies fail to act with the diligence you require, you can always CALL on “concerned old man” and he will enlist his “brothers Smith & Wesson” who he says are 44’s. Good luck with that – caution is recommended – the “hunter” can become the “hunted” in ideological witch hunts. ~~!~~ |

Nice try, Eldon. Side step the issue with an emotional argument.
Every one of those uninsured people you mentioned have a "safety net". A 1986 law called the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act established that safety net, which has resulted in emergency rooms being flooded with non-emergency cases. No one is turned away, or denied treatment, insured or not. So don't play games with semantics. By the way, the many you speak of who served in the military, have access to VA hospitals, right? What is the experience of many of these folks under gov't run health care at the VA? Some good, some bad, some horror stories. Had a Viet Nam Vet in the family (deceased from war injury complications) that had such a terrible experience with the VA over the years, he refused to go in for treatment, even with a broken hip. As for your friends Boxer, Frank, Feinstein, Obma, etc., if it walks like a commie, talks like a commie, governs like a commie, it must be.... a liberal socialist (progressive) democrat. As for myself, I swore an oath to uphold, protect and defend the constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic. To understand the oath, you need to understand the constitution and the limitations of powers thus enumerated in it. Do some homework, Eldon, and show me where the power to seize of 1/6 of the private sector and the denial of your personal freedoms in health decisions is expressly granted to the federal gov't. Hint: it's not in there. Get your research hat on, and let's have it. |
