Recalled mill employees rejoice with caution

Local 2354 Union Vice President, Dennis O'Brien says hearing that the 150 workers laid off from Smurfit Stone in Ontonagon will be back on the job in less than a week, was something he didn't expect to happen.

Apparently, the company wasn't done playing with the lives of their workers in Ontonagon. Just today word was received that the mill would again be shut down on September 15 this time indefinitely. The company won't give any information to their workers and families are again wondering what's going on.
