Accomack schools honor 11 retirees
ONLEY -- Accomack County Public Schools honored 11 retiring employees Thursday night at Nandua High School with a dinner and program featuring remarks by Virginia Education Association President Kitty Boitnott.
REGIONAL: Belote named president of Shore Bank
ONLEY - Hampton Roads Bankshares Inc., the financial holding company for Bank of Hampton Roads and Shore Bank, announces the board of directors of Shore Bank has named Steven M. Belote as its new president and chief executive officer.
ACCOMAC -- Scott Harvard, who joined Shore Bank as president in 1985 when it was a savings and loan using an old blacksmith shop in Accomac with $19 million in assets, resigned Wednesday as president and CEO of Shore Bank.
ONLEY -- DARE Day was held at Nandua High School on June 9. Since 1989, the event has been a popular celebration at the end of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education course taught in elementary schools.

ONLEY --Henry Holl-andsworth, a fifth-grader at Accawmacke Elem-entary School, spelled 'capillary' and 'abhor' correctly to win the Eastern Shore News Spelling Bee on Tuesday at Nandua High School.
