Recycling program is operational in Olney
A new recycling program has been established for Olney citizens. Citizens can take recyclables to the convenience center on Thursdays from 1-5 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. - noon and from 1-5 p.m. There is no fee for recycled items.
Wildfires have been sparking all across Texoma. High winds and scorching temperatures have fueled the flames causing wide spread damage.
The Trinity Hills Wind Farm near Olney came online in March. During construction, hundreds of jobs were created which pumped thousands of dollars into the local economy.
Annual cook-off kicks off Friday

Early voting in Olney's local elections starts Monday, April 30, at City Hall, and continues through Tuesday, May 8. Voting hours on May 1-2 and May 4-7 are 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Extended early voting hours will be held from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. April 30, May 3 and May 8. Two of three local governing boards will be having elections on Saturday, May 12.
