State Companies Put Stimulus Dollars To Work Flipping Houses

Perfect! Make everyone lose their jobs and their homes and then throw us all into a bunch of low-income houses or apartment complexes! Just what we the people need is a designer slum! Maybe if they focused on making more in America as far as products go then we would start seeing more job openings and less lay offs. The American people could afford to buy their own homes and fix them up and show pride in ownership!

Great government project. First the government crashed the stock market, which hurt investors that would normally be investing and providing this type of house.
Government check list, first crash the stock market, steal everyones retirement, crash capitalism, raise capital gains taxes 15% to 28%. Oh and crash all private investor, and put us all in government housing and collecting government benfits. not to mention the Obama health care coming soon.

The majority of low-income people who are living in privately owned houses and apartment complexes and getting HUD Section 8 rental assistance from various housing authorities in Oklahoma do not turn neighborhoods into slums.

You people remind me of the NIMBY folks who live in the White City neighborhood on the south side of I-44 (the expressway which is a block south of the Intersection of Admiral Place and Yale Avenue.

I have not been to that location yet; but, the design for the Tulsa Housing Authority owned apartment building and the artist's drawings of the side views makes it appear to look similar to many of the short-stay residence hotels and motels inside of the city limits of Tulsa.

After it is built, a person new to Tulsa wouldn't even know that low-income people even lived in the building if they didn't see any signs showing what kind of place it is.

I wouldn't mind living in my own apartment at that location. I already qualify to live there as far as my income is concerned.

I try to tell people that the gov. wants everyone to be out on the streets and live in card board boxes and eat dog or cat food and sleep on air beds (THE GOV. DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO PUT THE SENTORS AND CONGROSS IN THEIR)the key word is care.

All of these low income housing projects were new once. Look at them after a couple of years.......I believe we SHOULD help people but are we REALLY helping them when they don't appear to be willing to help themselves? Take a drive to any "government" subsidized housing and you'll find able bodied adults sauntering around in the middle of the afternoon when they could be working. Take a look at how many children they keep bringing into this world when they can't afford to feed the ones they already have (and they can get FREE birth control). I have sympathy for folks who have fallen on hard times, I help when I can and except for paying my taxes so our government can keep supporting them, I refuse to help people who will not help themselves....

Well folks, those out of work people have to live somewhere. And if you can not afford that new house, move where it is affordable. May not like it but a house is better than the street curb. But ido believe the economy is picking up, There are now more trucks on the rad and a friend told me they arehauling more and making more pickups and drop offs in those 18 wheelers. During the Bush administration the trucking industry fell off and they were not hauling as much nor buying those replacement trucks and they have started buyinf new trucks agin. So that is a sign that the economy is recovering. Wall Street is only a place to gamble, similar to Las Vegas. Only instead of money you gamble with buying stocks. I preferr Las Vegas myself, they do better odds and no magic marker is involved. just a game of skill

At least 15 homes in Muskogee! I would like to know the value of the completed homes that they are investing in for low income people? My home is a 3 bedroom under $70,000; very liveable and my math say's that you could fix up at least 33 homes with $2.5 million. Who does your accounting or is a $166,000 dollar home considered a bargin. WTF!!

Low income housing projects should be dismantled. Its just a way of making money off of the poor, and they create ghettos. No matter how much money the Housing Authorities get, its to their advantage to not make the situations better. Its called job security, and making a profit. Non-profits like projects they can rent cause they get to keep it. Put them on Section 8 and its really a lotta profit. I'm with rdloar. Seems like with that much money one could fix up many more than 15, plus they should be forced to sell them instead of rent. I worked for a non-profit, I know from whence I speak.
