Since the first priests walked out of the swamps or stepped out of canoes in the mid 1800's, the Catholic church has had a presence in Pocahontas.

There are now two breaks in the levee along the Black River near Pocahontas. That expanded the local flooding and resulted in the closure of U.S. 67 toward Walnut Ridge from the Black River Bridge to Hwy 90.

Lobos Rojos had a good turn out at the grand openng Thursday. The grand opening for the food court's Lobos Rojos, which means Red Wolves in Spanish, was held Thursday and the new concept received continuous lines throughout the day.

Wyatt Joseph Malachi Rickey , one month, and Noah Riley Keyth Rickey , two and a half, are the children of Charles Vernon and Nicole Elizabeth Ann Rickey of Siloam Springs.
