The armed robbery and shooting of a man in east Bakersfield yesterday may have been connected to a series of other incidents.

Residents in the area say there is a serious issue with dogs running loses. Coincidentally Kern County Animal Control officers were canvassing the streets of Oildale Thursday informing the public about animal safety laws.

More than a dozen firefighters made quick work of a fast-moving fire in Oildale Monday night.
