1st female soldier killed in combat
Spc. Christopher D. Gailey, 26, of Ochelata and Pfc. Sarina N. Butcher, 19, of Checotah died November 1 in Afghanistan after an improvised explosive device detonated near their military vehicle while their unit was on a resupply mission.
