Oceanside nature study area restoration urged
Guy Jacob, conservation chairman of the Nassau Hiking & Outdoor Club, is among a chorus of advocates calling on Hempstead Town to rebuild the infrastructure at the 52-acre Marine Nature Study Area, which was damaged by both Tropical Storm Irene in 2011 and superstorm Sandy in 2012.

Oceanside East threatening remains under investigation
Police responded to a call reporting that a male subject was threatening another male in the office of Oceanside High School East at about 8 a.m. Nov. 27. Boucher said it was not known at first whether a weapon was involved in the incident or not, so the respondents treated it like a lockdown situation.
