CAMP PENDLETON - A vehicle crashed into a sewer pipe in Camp Pendleton Sunday, causing an estimated 18,000 gallons of sewage to spill near the Santa Margarita River and prompting beach closures north of Oceanside.

The effort was part of the North County Regional Prostitution/Human Trafficking Task Force, and it involved cooperation between law enforcement agencies in Vista, San Marcos, Escondido and Oceanside.

The board of trustees decided at a meeting last week to continue gathering community comment on the bond, which could go before voters in November.
