laf...smart growth in Utah? How about a certain religion cutting out the request that all of its members have 5 kids. There is no such thing as 'smart growth' if population growth isn't a part of it. I guess I could add a certain ethnicity to the problem too.

Patrick Parkinson - what kind of journalism is this? Your headline could just as well have read, "Smart Growth Group Coming, Mayors Will Listen". Even Ovard said he would listen, and that seems to be your only example of "unwanted".
Why not wait for the response of these mayors after they have heard the initial presentation, before you print their reaction to it?

Transparency is really not a friendly concept to the monied interests that are driving the growth.(It lets their competitors and opponents know too much). Try to hold that growth check, and like Ovard says, it results in families facing huge obstacles to smart, or any growth (like building a second house on your land for your kids, or to sell to recover the funds you just lost due to the dairy farm failing).

You can do better, Patrick.

typical eastside, "what was good enough for brother Bringham is good enough for me". Let the westside have the growth/conjestion/pollution and we'll cry "unfair" for some of their tax revenue.

I live on the eastside, and work on the westside. I have nothing wrong with growth, it's the growth that wants to change everything. I moved to Kamas 30 years ago and bought a home there because I like the country effect, now the moveins want to change that they don't like the tractors, the farms and their animals. My say is if you don't like it go back to where you came from.

Aries

Life has a lot to offer today, especially if you're mixing with people on the same wavelength as you. With sensual Venus dancing with passionate Mars, a party or festive gathering is just the thing for the Ram. You might even go home with a certain phone number tucked safely in your pocket.
