Delmarva Power plans to revamp transmission lines

Delmarva Power has plans to revamp an existing overhead transmission line between substations in Oak Hall and Wattsville, including adding a new 138 kilovolt line to the existing 69 kilovolt line and replacing the 60-foot wooden poles with 75-foot steel poles.

Heavy rains resulted in severe flooding last Friday morning on portions of U.S. Route 13 near Oak Hall and one official recommended Accomack County and the state highway department seek federal funds to fix drainage problems on the region's only hurricane evacuation route.
