It had been rumored for weeks but Community Motors Pontiac/GMC Truck owners confirmed to Oak Forest city officials last week that the dealership would be moving down 159th Street to Tinley Park this week.

Another business leaves Oak Forest. Wonder how long it will take to find another business or businesses to occupy that place.

I am a business owner and I am offended by what the mayor did to the Tin Man. She is ruining the place for business... who is really making $$$$ from those deals she's ramming through? When she chases all of the business' out of Oak Forest it will be the homeowners who have to make up the diffrence.

I always try to 'Shop Oak Forest', but when I need to make a major purchase, I have to 'shop out of Oak Forest'.
I can't afford higher real estate taxes. I'm a widow with one child. I'm lucky if I can save a few $$$ at the end of each month. Money for gas is eating into my grocery bill.(pun intended) I hope we get something in there soon! |

Yes, O.F. needs more business, we have our fill of gas station and bars and fast food joints. It would be wonderful if we could get a large company that would come and stay for 30 - 40
plus years, but the way the economy is these days, that's nothing more than a pipe dream now. I think most company's are looking for tax breaks and not sure Oak Forest can offer them what they want. We need to keep our fingers crossed and pray who ever is elected as president can do something for the American people. |

I was told by someone in the police department, that they left to join car dealer row in Orland Park on 159th Street, because their business manager decided they might get more business if they were in that area instead of staying in Oak Forest. It makes sense to me. In today's economy, you've got to go where you'll get more exposure to the customers of car dealers. |
