Novato City Council race won by Athas, Eklund

Athas is ok but this stupid town put Eklund back in office again and it was a huge mistake. Lucan would have been a better choice.Five women running the town is not a good idea and now we must pay for it big time. Watch your taxes go up and the city go down.You get what you pay for so GOOD LUCK NOVATO

Look at the picture and who do you see in the left hand cener (Madeline Kellner) Does that tell you any change for Novato. I agree with the above poster when they said we are in real trouble now.

If Eklund wasn't such a good campaigner Lucan would be sitting in her seat. It is unfortunate that the citizens of Novato vote on "smiles" over substance.

Watch Eklund closely and you will see that she is divisive and lays blame everywhere. Outside of her presence at every meeting (a truly thankless job the city council is) she is not a positive for the city of Novato.

Congrats to Athas.. with Leland gone I am hopeful that the Athas vote will help change things in Novato.

They will be building the town up. They want the commons project for fireman's fund building and look at the general plan yes cut down redwood blvd to one lane each way and build houses. You voted for it now you are going to get it. Who do you think gave her the 41,000 she spent to be elected?

I never voted because I couldn't find anything about where they stand on the less popular and more difficult issues.

Buildings and development are one thing, but where do they stand on sympathy toward illegal immigration and the problem in front of Starbucks? What do they have to say about the increase in crime and riff raff since all of the entitled housing and programs have been put into Novato?

Strap your helmets on Novato! Now you have elected a Real Estate Broker with only the visions of lining her own pockets, and an incumbent who, whenever she knocked on my door to ask for my vote, never had time to answer my questions about how the downtown turned into such an ugly movie-set facade. One official will operate on greed, and the other with the typical "white-bread" lack of taste that has plagued Novato for decades. I bet they will never oppose the development of MORE nail salons, dry-cleaners and Mexican Restaurants - just what Novato needs as it marches forward into a visionary, colorful future! Athas said "I sell the beauty of Novato." If she thinks Novato is beautiful in its current state, she is blinded by potential commissions. Perhaps she should move into commercial real estate! If the cream, indeed, rises to the top, this is truly a sad day. This isn't cream, it is a blind, souless foam that has no nutritional value for the community.

Well Novato voters did it again, they voted showed how stupid they are and voted in Pat Eklund. When are the voters going to wake up and see what she is doing to this city?

I understood most of that $41,000 was "loans" she made to herself. She REALLY wanted to win bad.

Eklund doesn't speak for all. Novato needs some real development to create income for the city. She has been completely useless. Sat by and said there was no budget problem time after time and now says there is one and it needs to be corrected.

When she called our house last week and we asked her about the Millworks she stated to my husband she wanted it on Redwood blvd. He caller her a lier and hung up on her. Lets start a re-call

Novato missed a real chance for positive change by retaining a toxic incumbant with as poor a local and statewide reputation as Ms. Eklund. Her dismal record and continued lack of leadership and blurred vision will displace a council seat that could have been better filled by almost any one of those in the race. A sad day for Novato. Hopefully the next election will purge the other dim lackluster incumbant.

Congratulations to Eklund for winning another term and Athas for winnig a seat. Maybe they can get the new council to work together instead of the usual back-stabbing that has gone on from the other three incumbent women.
