Reenactors set for Battle and Burning of Norwalk

Full story: Connecticut Post

Every five years, during the second weekend of July, Eric Chandler dons a swallow-tail coat and brass helmet, grabs his Charleville musket and joins dozens of other soldiers in the Norwalk Town Militia to stop the invading forces of His Royal Majesty's Crown.

"On Saturday, visitors will be invited to the makeshift camps to interact with soldiers, who will cook meals in braziers over open fire pits and perform drills and demonstrations of military arts and crafts. "

How does one cook in a brazier?

Because every 5 years is the Anniversary of the Battle, dopey. 2004 was the 225th Anniversary. 2009 is the 230th Anniversary. And when they do it again in 2014, it will be the 235th Anniversary. They do it every 5 years on the anniversary date so it won't get stale or boring to the people who come to see it. And unlike some other events that take place in this town, the Reenactment is always FREE.
Here we go again

They should stage a "burning" of Bridgeport, and let the city rebuild from scratch.

Aries

Today looks particularly good for improving your earning capacity or working conditions. Events that develop around them could help to improve your self-esteem. You need to be wary of a friend's motivation because things aren't as simple as they seem. This is an excellent day to send out your resume and change work practices; get to know your colleagues better and basically have some fun with them.
