CUMBERLAND a ' Town Councilors heard no opposition Monday night to allowing concerts and pari-mutuel horse racing at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds, and moved forward with new yard waste fees and a new Shoreland Zoning Ordinance.

CUMBERLAND a ' After official election returns confirmed a deadlocked vote in Tuesday's School Administrative District 51 budget validation vote, school officials are working to schedule a second referendum.

A Westbrook woman is free on bail, accused of assaulting a six-month-old baby. Police said the alleged assault happened on May 15 while Meggan Lyn Loker, 24, was working at Caring Place Daycare in North Yarmouth.

Meggan Loker of Westbrook is charged with felony assault and endangering the welfare of a 6-month-old boy.

Governor John E. Baldacci today announced his nominations to the Advisory Council on Health Systems Development and the Maine Quality Forum Advisory Council.
