Bobcat, rescued in NYC, is chowing down
A New York wildlife rehabilitator says a bobcat rescued on Staten Island has a healthy appetite and 'quite an attitude.'
The bobcat, which weighs about 30 to 35 pounds, was captured with a humane trap Wednesday in a residential area.
It was taken to Bobby Horvath, a wildlife rescuer in North Massapequa (Mas-uh-PEE'-kwuh), Long Island.
Horvath said Thursday he suspects someone was illegally keeping the bobcat caged outdoors when it escaped. It is declawed, but could have survived by hunting squirrels, mice or rabbits.
